Good question Steve! While I am at it, I will also explain how an A/B Draw works, and how a Crazy Draw works as well, since they are similar.

Blind Draw - In a Blind Draw tournament, pairs are determined by random draw from the pool of entrants. No one knows who their partner is until the tournament director pulls the names out of the hat. It is a great way to meet people you may otherwise never shoot with. The only drawback is not knowing the ability of the partner you have drawn.

A/B Draw - In an A/B Draw, your league average is taken into consideration. Player's that have an average in the top half of the field of entries go into the A pool, the bottom half in the B pool. The pairs are then drawn, one from the A, one from the B. This allows the tournament director to more evenly spread out the talent amongst the pairs, and helps level the playing field without having to use Handicapping. Again, no one knows who their partner is until the draw.

Crazy Draw - A Crazy Draw is the same as a Blind Draw, only the pairs are redrawn each round until the final four teams are determined.

Hope this answers your question!
